In 2012 I achieved my lifelong ambition to become a Doctor of Philosophy and was fortunate enough to do this combining my love for shoes and my passion for Creativity and Material Culture.

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing and Branding at Nottingham Trent University. I was previously a Research Fellow in Product Lifetimes on the EPSRC funded Cie-Map project from 2014-2015. I have also held positions as a Lecturer in Fashion Communication at Manchester Metropolitan University, 2012 -2014, and as a Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, 2009 – 2012, where I taught Design and Visual Culture, International Fashion Business, Fashion Marketing, Branding and Theory. I have also worked at the Hong Kong Design Institute.

Before moving into Academia, I worked in the Fashion Industry in Sales and Marketing.
